Joondalup Music Centre started originally as a result of a gamble!
The original music centre was a small one unit store situated at unit 4/101 Winton rd. That, unfortunately for the previous owners, went into bankruptcy.
Peter and Genelle Picton-King saw the opportunity to create a new store with a very strong customer service focus, and felt that in the new growth area of Joondalup and surrounding suburbs it should work. |

With Peter's expertise and knowledge in Guitars and Amps and Genelle's background in retail and finance they decided to purchase the business and 'have a go'.
Two years later the store was doing so well they decided to expand next door into Unit 3, cue 4 years later and due to the demand for all things drums, they expanded further into unit 2 and opened the Joondalup Drum centre. |

In 2004, with their music school almost at capacity with over 500 students, they saw an opportunity to expand again and opened a satellite music store including tuition at Mindarie; This has now close to 200 students and a great range of musical instruments – It's also the only music store in Australia with an ocean view!!
Joondalup grew steadily and in 2006 Peter and Genelle decided to make a long standing dream happen. After years of travel around the globe and visiting many music stores in different countries |

(including the famous Guitar Centre in LA) they decide to create a store in Perth that would have the wow factor of these fantastic stores they had visited.
Finally over 10 years from that original gamble they are proud to say they have a store that has twice been nominated as one of the top four best presented stores in Australia!! And even more importantly, are very proud proud of the Joondalup Music Centre’s reputation for customer service that goes WAY BEYOND THE SALE! |
